Independent Pre-Return Lease Inspection & Repair
It might not cost as
much as you think...
call your lease company first
and find out what they charge.
Call your lease company Helpline, if you have to pay for small dents, scratches, scuffed bumpers, and kerbed wheels, in other words, excess wear and tear? What sizes are acceptable? What amount are you allowed? Is there a threashold figure?
Ask how much you will be charged, they may be able to provide you with a list of charges? If not they may be able to quote you for specific items of damage. Some lease companies will allow you to e-mail them pictures.
Does your lease company inspect cars to the BVRLA Fair Wear & Tear Standard or do they have their own variation, and can they provide you with a copy?
Do they give the option of a pre-inspection which will tell you what you are likely to be charged for and so give you a chance to put it right yourself?
Does the lease company require you to have the car cleaned/valeted before it's returned?
Lease companies are usually very helpful when it comes
to returning their cars, so don't
be afraid to call their Helpline for advice.
