minor dents, which falls below most people's Insurance excess.
In most cases, the best way to mend dents on the corners of plastic moldings it to remove the bumper, push the dent out and then repaint.
Midi-Repairs for Bumper Dents
A quick look at our list of services will tell you that we remove dents, you'll also see that we repair scuffs and scratches on the corners of bumpers. While these methods of repair can be successful on dented bumpers, it's more usual that the best method is a Midi-Repair.
The bumper is removed from the car, the damaged area is heated up from both sides and he dent it massaged out. The area is skimmed with a flexible filler to repair any imperfection and then the bumper is repainted.
The repair is fully guaranteed for three years and because the bumper is repaired rather than replaced, it usually works out far cheaper and for many people will work out less that the cost of their insurance excess meaning you can avoid making a claim.
Why Smart Repair is Seldom Successful for Dented Bumpers
Paintless dent removal is wonderful for metal panels, but it doesn't really work on plastic. It can work if the plastic is heated, but it's difficult to get a constant and even heat without removing the bumper. It can also be difficult to get access to the rear of the dent to be able to push it out.
The other problem is that dents on bumpers can cause the paint around them to shatter. This is often hardly noticeable at first but over time these micro fractures can begin to show. Polish and scratch removers just can't fix this.
Filling and repainting the localized area is often more successful especially if the dent is very small, and can be done without the need to remove the bumper. But larger dents often distort the bumper or leave high spots meaning the dents need to be removed... this can be done on the car, but it's difficult, time consuming, and has mixed results. So all things considered, we usually recomend that the bumper is removed and repaired at a bodyshop.

Photo Tips - Try to get one good close up of any damaged area, and then one shot which clearly shows the location... try and get in the nearest 'landmark' like a wheel arch or headlamp. When taking photos of dents, try taking them from a distance and zooming in. Use the reflection of a wall or fence to help show the dents. If your camera has problem focusing on chips or scratches, stick a piece of tape next to the damaged area and focus in on that, this will also help us get an idea of scale. When sending us photos of wheels, send us examples of the worst of the damage and one full picture of the face of the wheel so we can see what kind of finish it has.
The more information we have, the easier it is to answer! So you can include information such as the age of your car, and even your location - after all we might be able to recommend somebody closer.
